Passenger on May 7

Debutant writer-director Ranjit Sankar's Passenger, a family entertainer with a focus on humour, starring veteran actor-director Sreenivasan and comedian-turned-hero Dileep together for the first time, will be released as a summer special by Central Pictures on May 7. The shooting�has started in and around Kochi, Shoranoor and Guruvayoor.

Produced by S.P. Pillai under the banner of Vijaya Combines, Passenger revolves around Sathyanath (Sreenivasan), who is working in an export firm in Kochi. He travels to his work every day in a local passenger train from a small town. Dileep plays advocate Nandan Menon who meets him in the train, leading to an interesting twist in the story.

Music director Bijibal, who shot to fame in 2007 through his compositions in Arabikatha directed by Lal Jose, has set music to lyrics written by Anil Panachooran. P. Sukumaran handles the camera. The film has Mamta Mohandas making a comeback as heroine after a small gap. Also in the cast are Jagathy Sreekumar, Kalabhavan Mani, Nedumudi Venu, Harisri Asokhan and others.

Mamta's other Malayalam film (Musafir) with Rahman as hero, has been completed.
