Jayasuriya's Uthara Swayamvaram

Uthara Swayamvaram is the new film by young actor Jayasuriya after his Ivar Vivaahitharayal, Dr. Patient and Currency. Being shot in Ottappalam, the film is directed by Ramakanth Sarju and produced by Santhosh Pavithram under the banner of Pavithram Creations. Roma is the heroine. Roma and Jayasuriya�came together earlier for Shakespeare MA Malayalam, a reasonable hit in Kerala.

The story of Uthara Swayamvaram revolves around Prakash (Jayasuriya), son of Sreedhara Menon, who runs a supermarket. His father wants Prakash to become an officer, but Prakash, after graduation, is more interested in the activities of an Arts Club in the village rather than trying for a job.�Prakash falls in love with a village girl Uthara (Roma), daughter of rich Mahadevan. But Mahadevan arranges Uthara's marriage with another rich fellow. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Also in the cast are Lalu Alex, Salim Kumar, Nedumudi Venu, Biju Kuttan, Balachandra Menon, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Shobha Mohan, Sukumari and others. Gireesh Puthencherry has penned the lyrics and M. Jayachandran has scored the music. Salu George wields the camera. Scripted by J. Pallassery, Uthara Swayamvaram will be completed within a few days of shoot at Chennai and Bangalore.
