Happy Birthday Mohanlal

Indian's most versatile actor Mohanlal, born on May 21, 1960, celebrates his 49th birthday today.

In a sparkling career of more than three decades, Mohanlal scorched the Indian screens with some spectacular performances in movies such as T.P. Balagopalan M.A. (1986), Padamudra (1988), Kireedam (1989), Bharatham (1991), Vaanaprastham (1999), Kalapani (1995), Iruvar (1997) and Thanmathra (2005). Mohanlal is currently busy with four films: editor-turned-director Jeemon Ayarkunnam's debut directorial venture Ganitham; National award winning director Blessy's Bhramaram; Murali Nagavalli's Alexander the Great; and versatile actor Kamal Haasan's bilingual film Unnai Pol Oruvan (Ee Nadu in Telugu).

A remake of the critically-acclaimed Hindi film A Wednesday, Unnai Pol Oruvan has already started shooting at Ramoji Film City near Hyderabad. Mohanlal enacts the role of Anupam Kher in the Tamil version.

Mohanlal dons the role of a village school teacher in Ganitham, produced by Ruben Gomas under the banner of R.G. Entertainment, while Bhramaram has Mohanlal in the role of a lorry driver plying through the high ranges of Kerala. According to reports, in the comical racy entertainer�Alexander the Great Mohanlal will play Alexander, a man with diverse qualities and talents.
