Rahul Salanke, Ravishankar and Samyuktha Hornaad starrer Jigarthanda has hit the theatres today. Kichcha Sudeep is presenting the film under Kichcha Creations. The film which is the official remake of super hit Tamil film title is also the 50th movie of Kempegowda fame Ravishankar. Shiva Ganesh has directed this comic gangster film.
Jigarthanda opens to an encounter scene, and immediately goes into flashback mode. Rahul plays the role of an aspiring director, who by chance lands his first project with a producer. The producer wants him the director to give a gangster script with a lot of action and gore.
Wanting to find a unique script, he starts doing research on contemporary rowdies and zeroes in on Ravishankar, a dreaded and ruthless don. Rahul comes across Samyuktha Hornad whose mother cooks for the Gangster and his men. Rahul gets to know the gangster's story and he also cleverly double crosses information. This happens in a brilliant and explosive interval block. What happens next, forms the whole of Jigarthanda.
Shiva Ganesh has succeeded in remaking the film in a engaging way. The storyline and screenplay are very good, though one feels that the movie could have been a bit faster and a little shorter in length. The emotional bonds that develop between people and the subtle, dark humour in the dialogues need a special mention.
Arun Janya has given superb musical tracks and background score which is the added attraction to the film. Icing on the cake is the cinematography of the film, it adds a lot of value to the movie.
This Jigarthanda is sure to quench your thirst for a gripping movie.
