Uppi Dada M.B.B.S. is completed at last. Based on the Hindi hit film Munnabhai M.B.B.S , Telugu and Tamil films were released. But the Kannada version Uppi Dada M.B.B.S started a year and half back is yet to be released. It is still to complete shooting. In the meanwhile, Telugu version Sankar Dada M.B.B.S and Tamil version Vasoolraaja M.B.B.S. got released at Bangalore also. "This film was started a year and half ago. After some shooting, I got involved in the shooting of Dayanayak Encounter. Later there was a seven week ban on other language films. And the film was stopped abruptly, as the producers were Telugu people.
The remakes of these in other languages have come and gone. This is a boon for the Kannada people. They would have forgotten them and would see this as a new one. While this film is delayed, I went to direct Auto Shankar. In my entire career none of my films have been delayed so much. Anyway we have completed this film, by going to Singapore to shoot two songs. This film would be released in August," said director D. Rajendrababu. Along with Upendra in this film, director Rajendra Babu’s daughter Uma is acting as a second heroine.
