Kannada film industry’s veteran actress LV Sharada Rao passed away on Thursday morning. LV Sharada Rao was suffering from breast cancer and died at Shankara Hospital in Bangalore at 7.30 AM.
The actress is known for her roles in films like Vamsha Vriksha (1971), Adi Shankaracharya (1983) and Phaniyamma (1983). Sharada won national award for her first movie Vamsha Vriksha directed by B V Karanth, Girish Karnad. She won the prestigious Karnataka State Award for her acting in the role of a widow in the film Ganiamma movie.
Notably, LV Sharada Rao also acted along with Rajinikanth in the movie Ondu Premada Kate (1977), the first south Indian black and white cinemascope.
