Target: First copy ready

Target is based on Michael Douglas’ classic Basic Instinct and has Mumaith Khan essaying the role of Sharon Stone in the Telugu version. Sivabalaji and Shraddha Das are also starring in it. Sivabalaji will essay the role played by Michael Douglas. Produced by Sangashetty Dasaratha and directed by debutant Ramesh Raja, the move has some great background scores by Koti.

The first copy of Target is ready and will be going to the Censors soon. Speaking to mediapersons, the producer said, “We are planning to release the film in the second week of December. Mumaith Khan is playing the role of a crime story writer Mandakini. Her character will be different from the routine and will be something she’s never�attempted before in her career. The character has a lot of scope for performance and the film will enhance Mumaith Khan as an artiste.”

The director said, “The film is being made as an action entertainer with ‘Marma Kala’ (traditional martial arts)�as the basis for the script. Siva Balaji plays the role of a police officer from Delhi, who investigates the serial murders. Suresh Kumar’s cinematography will be one of the highlights of the movie. As�per story demands, we shot the film in a huge number of locations. The scenes shot in Coorg, Karnataka are simply superb.”

Launched in January 2008, the film was shot with a budget of Rs. 3.5 crores in 45 days.
