Rashmika Mandanna has become a South Indian sensation in quick time and is now at the top of the league in less than five years since her entry in cinema after just 10 films under her belt. She has become a big name, especially in Kannada and Telugu films, while also garnering a massive fan following among Tamil audiences as well after starring in only one film to date - the hit Karthi starrer, Sulthan, which came out in theatres last month. Rashmika, who made her debut in Kannada in 2016 in the blockbuster, Kirik Party, subsequently starred opposite 'Golden Star' Ganesh in the 2017 film, Chamak, which is now gearing up for a release in Tamil.

Directed by Suni under T. R. Chandrashekar's Crystal Park Cinemas banner, Chamak is a rom-com featuring Ganesh as Kush, a gynecologist and Rashmika as Kushi, an MBA graduate event organizer, with the film turning out to be a box office success. The makers have now dubbed the film in Tamil and are planning on a release soon, with the major crowd puller set to be Rashmika's presence, whose last release in Kannada, Pogaru, opposite Dhruva Sarja, was a box office success.

Fans of Rashmika will get a chance to catch a glimpse of her in Chamak, which has music by Judah Sandhy, cinematography by Santhosh Rai Pathaje and Manu Shedgar as the editor. The film was originally released in Kannada as a 2018 New Year's treat on December 29, 2017, and went on to prove to become a hit. As Chamak is now all set for a release in Tamil, the makers have unveiled a short teaser for the film featuring both Rashmika and Ganesh, whom audiences will know for reprising 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay's Sethupathi's role in the Kannada remake of 96, titled 99
