Prabhu, Gangai Amaran receive honorary doctorates
Popular South Indian actor Prabhu and noted director-musician-lyricist-singer Gangai Amaran were conferred honorary doctorates at the 20th convocation of Sathyabama University in Chennai on Thursday for their valuable contributions in the field of art and cinema.
S. Sundaresh, Distinguished Scientist, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), also received a honorary doctorate in recognition of his contribution to the field of technology management in the domain of combat vehicles.
Speaking on the occasion, Prabhu said that his father Sivaji Ganesan and former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran enjoyed a healthy and strong friendship and also recalled the days of his association with Gangai Amaran when he started his film career.
