Girish Kasaravalli bags one more National Award

At the 57th National film awards announced at New Delhi, Dr. Girish Kasaravalli bagged an award for his film Kanasembha Kudureya Benneri. The screenplay award was also bagged by Dr. Girish Kasaravalli and Gopalkrishna Pai for the same film. Kanasembha Kudureya Benneri is directed by Dr. Girish Kasaravalli and produced by Basanth Kumar Patil, President of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.

The 57th National Awards has been very encouraging for the Kannada cinema industry with five National Awards bagged byKarnataka. The other three awards are:

K. Putaswamy's book Cinemayana, a book on Kannada film history, won the Swarna Kamal award.
