Dhanush conquers hearts in Bengaluru

“My wife is a Kannadiga,” Dhanush began, then continued his speech in Kannada to earn the maximum applause of the evening. Dhanush, son-in-law of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, was here for the 100 days celebrations of Sanju Weds Geetha. Dhanush received wonderful applause and had to wave his hands very often. He was honoured by Shivanna.

Dhanush's speech was as direct as his films. “Kannada Abhimanigalige Appaji Raj Sir Namaskara. Kannada Gottilla, my wife Kannadadavaru (My wife is Kannadiga). Nanage Yee Orige Sambandha idhe (I have connections with this place). Naanu Illi Bandirodhu friendship indha (I came here due to friendship). Ondhu Olle friend (I have a very good friend here). Nambike iro friend idodhu Kashta and Nija friend annodhu Brame (The friend whom I can trust and I am proud of), my friend is Ramya."

Dhanush then called Ramya on stage and added, “I don’t know anything about Sanju Weds Geetha – it is a marriage I can say. Without any stuff, no film will click. In today's TV and DVD zamana, running 100 days in theatres is difficult. It is a magic that happened for Sanju Weds Geetha. Today I know how difficult is to learn a language; my friend had written this speech for me."
