Shruti Haasan, daughter of Ulaganayagan Kaml Haasan is on a new path in her career. She has officially begun shooting for her first international project. 'The Eye'. Written and directed by Emily Carlton and Daphne Schmon respectively, the psychological thriller is bankrolled by Fingerprint Content and will feature actor Mark Rowley of The Last Kingdom fame opposite Shruti who has already begun shooting for the film in Athens and Corfu.

Ecstatic about this, Shruti herself took to her official Twitter handle to confirm and announce this news to her 21.4 million fans and followers. Sharing the post made by Deadline, she wrote, "Super stoked to be a part of “the eye” with the loveliest team !!! The Eye is a psychological thriller that follows the story of a widow who returns to a greek island to spread her deceased husband's ashes. Apart from Haasan and Rowley, the film will also star Anna Savva from 'True Horror' and Linda Marlowe from 'The Duchess' among others.

Shruti said: "It has always been my dream to share stories through music, words and the visual medium of cinema. The concept of widening that net and being able to do that globally is beyond exciting - it's so wonderful to be a part of such a wonderful team - that too led by incredibly talented women is something that is extra special! It's a beautiful story and I'm so honoured to share it with people."

This is Shruti's first international movie after she had been making waves internationally by debuting in the American action series 'Treadstone' in which she plays a  recurring role. The show is  to the Bourne film series. Another international project had fallen into her hands many years ago but it is not something that you might expect. Shruti did the voiceover for Elsa in the Tamil version of 2019's musical fantasy film 'Frozen 2'. Recently, Shruti had also lent her voice to the international audio drama 'Sandman: Act III'.
