Shruti Haasan kicked off 2023 on a massive note with two big Sankranthi releases - Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy and 'Megastar' Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya. The leading South Indian actress has now posted a video featuring the making of a few sequences from both the Telugu films, which give us a glimpse into the efforts she had undertaken for her roles. The video shifts from Shruti Haasan dancing to performing intense action sequences while being holstered on a rope and also taking part in a gun battle aboard a helicopter. Posting the video on Instagram, she wrote, "I live many lives within my life - the trick is to try and stay honest and earnest in every moment 🧿🖤 random bts and throwbacks from my last two 🎥 s". Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy and Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya took a stellar opening in theatres in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana and overseas, including the U. S. where Telugu-speaking people thronged cinema halls to catch their favorite superstars on the big screen. While Shruti Haasan played the role of a tone-deaf wannabe singer in Balayya's Veera Simha Reddy, the actress stepped into the action zone in Waltair Veerayya with 'Megastar' in which she was cast as a RAW Agent. Her performances in both films were well-received by audiences, who got to witness her on the Telugu big screens after her last big theatrical release Krack opposite Ravi Teja in 2021.
2023 is a big year for Shruti Haasan and she will once again be seen in Telugu in the highly-anticipated Salaar starring Prabhas being directed by KGF films fame Prashanth Neel. The action thriller is being bankrolled by KGF and Kantara producer Vijay Kiragandur's Hombale Films banner and also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Jagapathi Babu in key roles, with the film scheduled to open in theatres on September 28. Shruti Haasan will also be making her international big screen debut in a psychological thriller film titled The Eye being directed by Emily Carlton and Daphne Schmon under the Fingerprint Content banner and will see her share screen space with The Last Kingdom's Mark Rowley. She previously made her international television debut in the American action series, Treadstone, appearing in a recurring role.
