Bollywood and TV actress Sapna Pabbi had been issued a summons by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a drugs case linked to the investigation of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. Sapna is the latest of the popular actresses to be summoned by the anti-drug agency, as per a report in Mid-Day. However, the Khamoshiyan actress had not responded to the summons, including not turning up for the probe, with officials as well unable to get in touch with her.

Sapna Pabbi's name first emerged in the investigation after the arrest of Agisilaos Demetriades, brother of Arjun Rampal's partner Gabriella Demetriades. Gabriella's brother Agisilaos was sent to judicial custody on Wednesday by a Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Court after it was discovered that he possessed drugs. "Agisilaos has been arrested from a resort in Lonavala area of Mumbai. Drugs have been recovered from his possession. Alprazolam, a tablet that is banned in India was recovered during a raid at his home," news agency ANI quoted on October 19.

NCB officials have stated that a summons notice was pasted outside Sapna Pabbi's residence on Tuesday asking her to be present in connection with the case. They added that they had come across digital evidence indicating that her name may also be involved in the drug nexus. NCB officials say they will initiate further action if she doesn't respond. A British actress, Sapna Pabbi last featured in the Netflix film, Drive, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez. She is currently also a part of the web series Inside Edge: Season 2.

Earlier, actresses Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh were issued summons by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drugs case linked to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. The high-profile actresses had appeared for questioning in the widening probe into the Bollywood-drug nexus, which emerged during the investigation. Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty was granted bail by the Bombay High Court sometime back after being arrested and sent to jail on drug-related charges in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case.
