The release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest film Gangubai Kathiawadi has been the talk of the town and for very good reasons. The script, the production, the characters and especially Alia Bhatt's portrayal of the eponymous character absolutely stole the show. She carried the weight of the film on her back effortlessly and commanded the stage with her authoritative performance. It was instantly noticed by all and even received glowing reviews from some A-lister Bollywood celebrities such as Sophie Choudry, Ananya Panday, Aditya Seal, Anurag Kashyap, Vicky Kaushal, Riddhima Kapoor and Shashank Khaitan to name a few.

A new fan has caught on to it and it is none other than Samantha Ruth Prabhu herself. The actress stole our hearts in the very beginning with the release of her debut film Ye Maaya Chesave back in 2010. She recently celebrated her 12 year-long run in the film industry since her debut. Samantha watched Alia Bhatt in action in the new flick and was gobsmacked and left in awe. She posted a story on to Instagram during the time of her viewing and said, "#GangubaiKathiwadi A masterpiece!! @aliaabhatt Words aren't enough to describe your performance. Every single dialogue and expression will be etched in my mind forever."

Written and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film revolves around a young girl who is sold to a brothel by her lover where she is later into prostitution and how she becomes a prominent and celebrated figure in the underworld at Kamathipura's red-light district. It also stars superstar Ajay Devgn who plays a pivotal role in the form of an extended cameo performance.

As for Samantha, she recently shared the first look from her first mythological film, Shakuntalam where she looked ethereal. She is also awaiting the release of Vignesh Shivan's Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal which is set to hit the theatres on April 28 and will be seen acting alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. Samantha will also be making her big Hollywood debut in The Arrangements Of Love, which is to be directed by Downtown Abbey filmmaker Philip John.
