Leading Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan confirmed on social media about sustaining an injury recently on Wednesday after it was reported last week that he had been hospitalised. During his hospitalisation, several family members including his father and legendary superstar Amitabh Bachchan and sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda visited to check on him. Taking to Instagram, Abhishek posted a picture of himself with his arm in a sling along with a thumbs up gesture. The actor revealed that he fractured his right hand on the sets of his next film during the shooting at Chennai after which he headed back to Mumbai for the surgery. 

Abhishek wrote, "Had a freak accident in Chennai on the set of my new film last Wednesday. Fractured my right hand. Needed surgery to fix it! So a quick trip back home to Mumbai. Surgery done, all patched-up and casted. And now back in Chennai to resume work. As they say... The show must go on! And as my father said.... Mard ko dard nahin hota! Ok, ok, ok it hurt a little. Thank you all for your wishes and get-well-soon messages." Abhishek Bachchan's post about his health condition saw many notable celebrities and fans sending in their wishes for his speedy recovery. His sister Shweta commented, "best patient ever", while actor Bobby Deol wrote, "Hope you get well soon." Similarly, Abhishek's niece, Navya Naveli Nanda, directors Karan Johar and Zoya Akhtar, costume designer Manish Malhotra, actor Sikandar Kher too extended their wishes for him to get back on his feet soon once again. 

Seen last year in the Amazon Prime Video series Breathe: Into the Shadows and the Netflix release Ludo, Abhishek Bachchan kicked off 2021 with The Big Bull and will next be seen in Bob Biswas, a spinoff to Vidya Balan's blockbuster Kahaani, and Dasvi, in which he will share screen space with Yami Gautam.
