When director Sanjay Khanduri's was fined for clicking pictures at Delhi Metro
Sanjay Khanduri, who has been working on his pet project- Gyrah Chalis Ki Last Metro, the sequel to his hit film Ek Chalis Ki Last Local since the past four years has now started the pre-production in full swing. The film was in news recently since Vivek Oberoi replaced the lead of the original film. Vivek will be playing the role of a middle class Punjabi munda who will end up missing the last metro and will come face to face with the capital's crazy nocturnal beings.
Sanjay recently visited Delhi as majority of the film would be shot in the capital unlike the first which was shot in Mumbai. But the director ended up falling in a soup when he was busy clicking pictures at a certain Delhi metro station and his crew hopped on to the train and moved on to the next destination leaving him behind. He was held up by the officials there since the required permissions were with the production crew who had moved onto another station.
Photography is strictly prohibited at metro stations for obvious security reasons. His phone was also with his assistant who had also moved onto another station with the production crew. It took him a lot of convincing to tell the officials that it was for a film and the pictures were a part of his study and his crew members had prior written permissions. He failed to persuade them that he was scouting for locations as the metro plays an important part in his films' narrative. The director even paid a fine for the same but an issue took place when the authorities seized his camera. The camera mattered a lot to him since it had all his pictures that he had shot over the last seven days. It was then that the production crew got back via the next metro and showed the necessary paperwork.
While they were going through the papers, co-incidentally Vivek Oberoi called on producer Amit Chandrra's phone and the head of security saw the actors name flashing on his cell. He requested to speak to the actor and was thrilled to hear his 'Maya bhai' on the other side of the line. Vivek also confirmed that the crew was there for his film. The security head felt really happy and fortunate to get to speak to one of his favourite actors by chance. The tension eased completely and the crew was allowed to leave with the camera and equipment since all papers were fine. Khanduri was finally relieved and returned a happy man thanking his star actor to have called at just the right time.
Gyrah Chalis Ki Last Metro is being produced by Amit Chandrra under his banner Invincible Entertainment. The film would be shot extensively in Delhi and unlike the original, this one would stem up its glamour quotient adding to the glitz making it way more commercial than the original. The makers are going all out to shoot in the most posh places of Delhi and are leaving no stone unturned to get all necessary permissions for shoot to make the film more spunky and new age.
