The 40-year-old actor John Abraham, who turned producer with Vicky Donor last year, says the industry has now started taking him seriously.

Making his debut into the acting world with Jism in 2003, the actor has tried his hand at various genres such as No Smoking, Kabul Express and Water amongst the many. Choosing films based on the content, the actor has gone a long way to have completed almost a decade in the industry. He was even recently seen playing a negative role in Race 2.

Walking a long way to the top today, John has had his own setbacks and has also heard a lot of criticism on his work, but today things have taken a turn ever since his first production, the actor today has gained his own respect.

Coming into the crowded glam world, the actor has made his own mark today and advices all newcomers not to have any pre-conceived notions when they enter the industry.  

Vicky Donor, was directed by Shoojit Sircar and starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Yami Gautam and Annu Kapoor in the lead. It opened strongly at the box office and was declared a super hit by Box Office India.
