Akshay Kumar's Special 26, which has fetched him good reviews for his acting skills is reportedly to be remade, down South. The film also bagged a whopping Rs. 22 crores, within just three days of release.

This film, directed by Neeraj Pandey of A Wednesday fame, also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Jimmy Shergill, Manoj Bajpai and Anupam Kher in prominent roles. The film is inspired by a real-life heist which took place on March 19, 1987, when a group posing as CBI officers executed an income tax raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri, in Mumbai. Director Neeraj also confirmed that he has been contacted by several filmmakers from down South, but he is yet to decide on it.

However, an official confirmation is yet to be received.
