Shruti Haasan, who was lastly seen in Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, released in 2011, has grabbed the lead role in Prabhudheva's Ramaiya Vastavaiya. Prabhu's directorial venture is said to be musical love story and will mark the big screen debut of producer Kumar Taurani's son Girish Kumar.
The actress was busy with her films down south, but after hearing the script he could say no it and singed the film immediately. The film has already started shooting with the lead character, and will progress briskly from January, which is heading for June release next year.
