King of romance, Shah Rukh Khan, says he hated doing love stories because he thought it wouldn't suit him.

He credits Yash Chopra was convincing him to do such roles. “I remember Yashji tell me, till you love, nobody will love you back,” he recalls.

Entering showbiz with a small role as an army man in a TV show Fauji, Shah Rukh made his Bollywood debut with Deewana (1992). He won accolades for his role in his first movie with Yash Chopra, Darr, where he played a psycho lover. Then on making romance his forte, Shah Rukh made hits after hit with films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Mohabbatein (2000), Veer-Zaara (2004), Om Shanti Om (2007) and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008).

Glad to have taken Yash Chopra's advice, today Shah Rukh has won himself the tag of Bollywood's king of romance.

Shah Rukh fans can't wait to see him in yet another romantic saga, by Yash Chopra, Jab Tak Hai Jaan. The film will reach cinema halls for Diwali, on November 13 and will also star Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
