Netflix on Thursday (July 17) released the trailer for Raat Akeli Hai which marks the directorial debut of casting director Honey Trehan. Nawaz plays a policeman named Jatil Yadav, who is assigned to investigate the murder of a wealthy landlord. The moment he sets foot in the man’s old house, he gets to know something is not right and that each member of the family is hiding something. It is yet another murder mystery that resembles a recent superhit Hollywood film Knives Out which was about a renowned crime novelist who is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, an inquisitive detective is mysteriously enlisted to investigate who sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind the untimely death of the novelist. One major difference between Raat Akeli Hai and Knives Out is the treatment. While Knives Out had fun and laid back approach, Raat Akeli sounds so serious and intense.
