Proud of darling daughter
The one film to watch out for before the year comes to a close is Ekta Kapoor's The Dirty Picture. The buzz is tremendous, the songs are a rage ['Ooh Laa Laa' in particular], Vidya Balan is looking smoldering hot, the promotions have been superb… Naturally, everybody is hoping to catch the film when it hits the screens.
But veteran actor Jeetendra, Ekta's father, won't watch it in the preview screenings. "Like always, Dad watches our films with his friends in a theatre on Friday. He calls up once the show concludes and gives his opinion," Ekta says. But Ekta's mom Shobha has already watched the film in one of the screenings. "Mom rarely watches films. And she rarely steps into a theatre to watch a film. In fact, the last film she watched in a theatre was 3 Idiots. But she did watch The Dirty Picture and paid a huge compliment after the screening. She loved the film," Ekta divulges.
Now here's the latest development: The Dirty Picture has been dubbed in Telugu and will be released simultaneously.
Also, Ekta is starting a slew of new films in 2012 with reputed names. The young entrepreneur, who is revered and admired in television circles, has now decided to set her sights on feature films as well.
