Nawazuddin Siddiqui may be typecast as a serious actor. Not to blame, as his roles in most of his films including Gangs Of Wasseypur have been pretty intense and serious.

The actor, we hear, has now switched his gears to the comedy genre and has also signed a film with Bejoy Nambiar. Titled Focus, the film will see him play a comical role alongside Arvind Swamy, who will be making his comeback into Bollywood. He will also be doing another comedy film, co-produced by Anurag Kashyap.

When contacted, the actor confirmed the news and revealed his excitement to do these films. Besides, he also said he is not new to this genre, as he has done a lot of comedy during his theatre days. “I used to do comedy more than anything else. And I enjoy it immensely too. But in Bollywood I've always been approached for more serious roles, perhaps because of my looks or what I have done earlier.,” he added.

The National Film Award winner has done many critically acclaimed films such as Sarfarosh, Black Friday, Kahaani and Talaash.
