The film Heroine, by filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, has received an 'A' certificate from the Censor Board of Film Certification. Bhandarkar happily tweets "As expected got a 'A' certificate from the censor board." He later clarified that the 'A' certificate is for the trailer and not for the film. The film's editing is in process. The countdown for the launch of posters and promos have began.

Initially, the film did have a little bit of trouble as, former heroine Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had to back down due to her pregnancy. The National Award-winning filmmaker had also launched Heroine at the Cannes International Film Festival, last year, with Aishwarya Rai as the lead. Anyhow, later, Kareena Kapoor was pulled in, by Bhandarkar, to do the film opposite Arjun Rampal.

Heroine is roughly about what goes on, behind the flashes of camera and the red carpet. The film is set for release in September, this year. Bhandarkar has made many successful films in the past, such as Fashion, Page 3 and Traffic Signal.
