Kangana Ranaut, who started off her career with Gangster(2006), has come a long way in Bollywood. The actress has now taken a decision, to direct a movie.

According to sources, Kangana will be making her directorial debut with a short film, in collaboration with an Australian writer. The film will be shot in Los Angeles and the title is yet to be decided. The movie revolves around a dog and a 4-year-old boy. The entire cast and crew are American.

When asked about what inspired her to turn director, she said, "after meeting Hollywood biggies during one of my recent trips to Los Angeles. And things just fell into place." The actress has gone for many workshops and also studied a bit of child psychology for this short film. She reveals, "It took six months of thorough groundwork. I was advised not to work with kids and animals, but my script demanded it. Kaden (the boy) is very little. We had to place hidden cameras, play games, and pretend to be aliens and trees in order to get him in the frame! But it was fun, he is adorable. The dog was well-trained and not difficult to work with. We intend to send the film for international festivals, but as of now, I am concentrating on finishing the editing and visual effects. That's the only thing on my mind before I leave for Paris for my next acting schedule."

The actress says she loves acting and directing equally and says they both are unique. She enjoyed her experience working with the international cast and crew. She is grateful for all the support her director friends gave her. She is currently working on movies of six prestigious banners.

We hope Kangana doesn't retire from acting!
