Ajay Devgn starred in the remake version of Himmatwala reprising Jeetendra's role, while South actress Tamannaah reprised Sridevi's role. The actor in his recent interview revealed that he knew that the film will not do well at the box office. He further added, that after watching the film he found something that was in the original was missing in the film. He feels that 80's films were very contemporary but that cannot be brought in today's cinema, hence the film did not do well.
