Sui Dhaaga Made In India Movie Review

Sui Dhaaga Made In India is a Hindi drama film directed by Sharat Katariya and produced by Maneesh Sharma under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The movie stars Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma in lead roles.

Varun Dhawan as Mauji is an uneducated youngster who thinks buffoonery is his only talent. Anushka Sharma as Mamta is his wife, she brings out her husband ‘s true talent. What happens in their lives after that forms the remaining story.

The story is built by familiar drama, but the tailoring concept is refreshing. We haven’t seen much films based on this idea, hence the filling is relishing. There is a big effect when this country’s small Politics is discussed and it highlights the value of the title quote ‘Made In India’. The story gives a great scope for the costumes and naturally, the film gets many beautiful colors to enrich the quality. The progression takes place in a neat manner, the incidents that happen to the characters in the movie move the story forward. Dialogues aren't clap-worthy but they blend well with the situations.

Director Sharat Katariya has given importance to his content and has not allowed any unwanted elements for commercial purpose. The visuals of the first song zoom up the drama just to showcase the lead pair's chemistry. Emotions have been handled with care in this drama flick without stressing anything. The fact ‘There is a woman behind every successful man’ which we usually point out has been delivered nicely in this movie. The film offers many feel-good moments throughout the flow. There is a slight dip in engagement towards the end and the climax has been approached in a cinematic manner.

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma have equal potential for scoring. They have gone through the thick of their characters and played with easing grace. They don’t over-emote at any instance, the extraction of performances have been done well by the captain of the ship. Songs are decent and the background music elevates the feel perfectly, in fact, there are scenes which have scoring based on the point-of-view of the characters. Cinematography and artwork provide ample support to the movie. Editing is also smartly done as this drama runs only for 2 hours, and it provides a positive impression within the given short time as well.

Verdict: A well-made realistic drama that offers many feel-good moments.
