Delhi Government announces Rs. 1 Crore compensation to medical workers for loss of life due to COVID - Daily news

The Health & Family Welfare Department of the Government of the NCT of Delhi has issued a new order on Tuesday (07-04-2020) stating that it would be providing a compensation of Rs. 1 Crore, in case any of the medical workers lose their lives due to the COVID-19. Medical workers like doctors, nurses, paramedics, sanitation workers and other healthcare professionals are braving all hardships and putting the lives of the public, over theirs and turning up to work every single day, despite the 21-day lockdown announced by the Indian Government. 

The number of COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus cases has come close to touching 5000 in India and the loss of life has already crossed 120. Medical workers are doing their best, every single day & night for treating the affected people and also ensuring that testing is happening to identify all further cases at the earliest stage possible. Recently, a nurse lost her life to the Corona Virus, after getting affected while treating some patients. This latest order by the Government of Delhi has revealed that they would be awarding the compensation of Rs. 1 Crore to the families of the medical workers who lose their lives due to the Corona Virus, while on COVID-19 duty. A copy of this order has already been circulated amongst the relevant departments.
