It's an exciting time for cricket buffs as the buildup to the Indian Premier League's 13th edition is on in full swing! All the teams have begun assembling their players in their respective cities and training camps are underway. The Kings XI Punjab team has already left for the UAE earlier today, where this year's tournament is happening! IPL 2020 will begin on September 19th and will go on for 53 days with the final expected to be played on November 10th! All the teams and players will be in biosecure bubbles to safeguard them from the rampantly spreading COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus! One of the most successful teams in the history of the IPL - Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had originally sought permission to leave for the UAE by August 10th to begin their team's training there but with permission given for all teams to leave only after August 20th, the CSK players have assembled in Chennai for a 5-day preparatory camp behind closed doors at the Chepauk Cricket stadium!

The CSK team players are all set to leave for Dubai, tomorrow (August 21st) by a charter plane. However, we hear that a key CSK player will not be travelling to Dubai tomorrow, along with the rest of the team! A news report from CSK states that 40-year-old Harbhajan Singh will not be travelling along with his CSK teammates, tomorrow! Reportedly, he has some personal commitments and will be joining the remaining CSK players at Dubai, in two weeks time. A report in the media states that Harbhajan's mother is not keeping well and that is why he has asked permission to join the team at a later date. Harbhajan had already opted out of the team's preparatory camp in Chennai, along with Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur. Jadeja is expected to join the CSK camp today while Thakur arrived yesterday!

All the CSK players were subject to COVID-19 tests on Tuesday and the results have all returned negative. This was the second round of tests on the players, before they leave for Dubai, tomorrow! We hear that CSK captain MS Dhoni is very happy with the outcome of the fitness and conditioning camp that the team underwent at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The conditions in the UAE would suit CSK, who would be aiming for a fourth title to match Mumbai Indians, who trumped the Yellow Army at the 2019 IPL finals, by a very small margin! MS Dhoni and his CSK deputy Suresh Raina, announced their retirement from international cricket on August 15th, within a short span of each other. While MSD's retirement was expected, some people still hoped he would atleast play on till the next T20 World Cup, in 2021! Suresh Raina's retirement came out of the blue and was a huge shock for he is just 33 and people expected him to play on for some more time! Stay tuned for updates...
