The tensions between India and China have been on the rise ever since the clashes between the armed forces of the two neighbouring nations, along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the border regions! China's aggressive incursion into Indian territory was met with stiff resistance and a number of Indian soldiers were martyred in these clashes. News of this spread like wildfire and an anti-China sentiment which had been quietly boiling below the surface began to be voiced from all corners of India. Despite the talks between the armed forces of the two nations happening on one side, the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps, including the world famous TikTok, on June 29!
The Indian government has cited security reasons as being the main motive behind banning Chinese apps and just a couple of days back, again banned another 118 mobile apps, including the highly popular game Players Unknown Battleground, more commonly known as PUBG! This has been widely seen as India's way of retaliation to renewed tensions with China on the border! However, responding to this latest move by India, Chinese experts have given out statements of their own! These Chinese statements allege that India has taken to this decision of banning popular Chinese apps, to deflect the attention from its own misgivings.
A statement on the Chinese state-run media - Global Times, has quoted political experts in their tweets. The statement goes, "India's latest move to ban 118 Chinese apps on Wednesday, following renewed border tension, underscored the Modi government's "adventurism and opportunism" in an ill-intentioned move to deflect attention away from a potential collapse due to the corona virus and a crippled economy!" The recently banned 118 apps include Alipay, Baidu, Baidu Express Edition, Tencent list, FaceU, WeChat reading, Government WeChat, Tencent Weiyun, APUS Launcher Pro, CutCut, ShareSave by Xiaomi, PUBG Mobile Lite and a number of others! Stay tuned for updates...
