June 25 - TN COVID Update: 3509 New Cases | 45 New Deaths | Total - 70,977 Cases & 911 Deaths

It is that time of the day when the official number of the COVID-19 cases are released and June 25th has now seen a shockingly high spike for 24 hours with 3500+ cases! The official numbers of COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus cases in Tamil Nadu are out and we have it for you. The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 3509 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 70,977! Of these, 1834 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 47,527! Madurai has had a massive spike with 203 new cases while Ramanathapuram has also recorded a shockingly high 140 new cases and Chengalpattu has recorded 191 new cases while Tiruvallur has registered 170 and Vellore 168!
There have been 45 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 911. As of now, Chennai is the biggest hotspot in the state and has 47,527 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 30,064 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone, stands at 18,969! The number of recoveries has been very good but lesser than yesterday! There have been 2236 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 39,999. There have been 32,543 samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 1,008,974! Thus Tamil Nadu has become the first state in India to conduct over 1 million COVID tests but the massive spike in infections takes TN close to Maharashtra and Delhi.
