Tamil Nadu Minister for School Education K. A. Sengottaiyan during an interaction with the press on Saturday in Erode said that the SSLC, class 11 and the class 12 (HSC) results will be announced in the third week of July. The class 10 board exams, which were initially supposed to take place in March, and postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, have been scheduled to be conducted between June 15 to June 25. He further said that students who were not able to write class 11 and class 12 examinations, have also been permitted to appear for the exam.

Minister Sengottaiyan said details about students affected by the COVID-19 will be known only when they appear on June 8 and 9 to collect their exam hall tickets. He added saying it is learnt from some newspapers that a few students in certain places in Tamil Nadu have been affected by the novel coronavirus and such details are being collated from the headmasters and principals of respective schools. He has also said that strict action will be initiated on such schools which compel students to remit fees through online mode for the purpose of online coaching. Schemes are being framed to reduce the quantum of syllabus for the academic year 2021, he added.
