It is known the world over that India and Pakistan have a long standing issue over Kashmir. However, in recent times, there have been a number of escalations over this issue. Recently, Pakistan had tried to get the backing of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries to back it over the Kashmir issue but did not find much support from the other members, except Turkey. The all powerful Saudi Arabia, UAE and the largest Islamic country Indonesia, all accepted India's claim that Kashmir is an internal issue and that it should be resolved internally, without external interference! However, ever since the Imran Khan government assumed power in Pakistan, there have been a number of threats issued to India and the most recent one has come from a national minister!

The Pakistan Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, has now threatened India with a nuclear war. He is considered to be the voice of Pakistan's counter-intelligence agency ISI. While talking to a TV channel, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has stated that if India attacks Pakistan, it would descend into an "atomic war". He went on to mention that the Pakistani Army was much inferior to India's in terms of conventional weaponry and would have to resort to using a nuclear bomb. He said, "This will be a bloody, last and atomic war!" and added, "Our (nuclear) weapon will be very calculated, miniature and perfect. It will target India while protecting the lives of Muslims." He went on to claim that Pakistan has nuclear weapons with the capablity of reaching Assam in India and said, "Pakistan does not possess enough conventional weapons, so India knows that, whatever will happen, will happen!" He also boasted of Pakistan having very small, very accurate and perfect atom bombs.

This is the second time that Rasheed Ahmed has threatened India with war, after first doing so in August, last year. He had then predicted that there would be a full-fledged war between Pakistan and India in October or November, over the Kashmir issue. Ahmed had stated that it was time for. "the last battle for the liberation of Kashmir." He had also boldly stated that this war would be "full and final!" While addressing a rally in Rawalpindi, he had expressed his solidarity with the people of Kashmir and had called the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be the reason behind the Kashmir issue and said, "It is because of Hitler Modi that we smell war over Kashmir!" However, the Pakistani PM Imran Khan has stated on two different occasions that a war between the nuclear powers of India and Pakistan would not end well. Stay tuned for updates...
