The Islamic State or ISIS as it is more commonly known, is one of the foremost terror outfits in the world and is notorious for perpetrating terror in many countries. Media reports state German prosecutors as claiming a German girl who fell in love with and married an ISIS man, was forced to sell her wedding gift due to a financial crunch. Well, the interesting part is that, this wedding gift happened to be an AK-47 rifle! The woman has been identified only as Zeynep G and she has been indicted by a German Court on Thursday on various counts, including participating in activities of a foreign terrorist organisation, breaching arms-control laws and committing war crimes!
Reports state that Zeynep was married to a Chechen fighter and convinced others to join the cause, through social media at that time. After her husband's death, she then travelled to Syria in 2015 after falling in love with and marrying a German ISIS operative and settled down in the Raqqa region. Prosecutors have revealed that Zeynep had asked her second husband to get her a Kalashnikov rifle and training to use it, as her wedding gift. However, she has gone on to state that she had to sell off the AK-47 rifle after a while, due to some financial crisis they were facing. Zeynep has also reportedly revealed to the prosecutors that she and her husband had occupied the house of a former ISIS operative, who had fled from that region. This added the looting or pillaging charges on her.
Unfortunately for Zeynep, her second husband also died in 2017 and she was then kidnapped by Kurdish fighters. After about 2 years, Zeynep managed to escape from her captors and fled to Turkey, where she was arrested upon arriving. Zeynep was then extradited to Germany, where she was prosecuted and is now awaiting trial. Stay tuned for further updates...
