DMK MLA J Anbazhagan who was admitted in the hospital for COVID-19 treatment died today morning on the 10th of June. His condition had been critical and he was on ventilator support. Sadly, he died on his birthday, he had turned 62 today. Anbazhagan was admitted in the hospital last week after testing Covid-19 positive. He was kept in ventilator support at Reela Institute and Medical Centre located in Chrompet, Chennai and was been relying on 80 per cent of oxygen through the ventilator. A statement by the Reela hospital said: “Anbazhagan, who has been fighting for his life with severe Covid-19 pneumonia rapidly deteriorated early this morning. In spite of full medical support including mechanical ventilation at our Covid facility, he succumbed to his illness.” 
Anbazhagan is an incumbent Member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency in Chennai District. He actively took part in relief work during the lockdown period. His existing chronic kidney disease worsened and his condition turned critical. It must be noted that he had a liver transplant 15 years ago. 
Social media is buzzing with tweets and replies expressing their condolences for Anbazhagan. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister -  Edappadi K. Palaniswami took to his Twitter to share a few words about Anbazhagan, so was DMK’s party leader MK Stalin.  
Edappadi K. Palaniswami says - “I am so sad to know about the passing away of DMK MLA Anbazhagan, I express my condolences to his family and the party that he represents.” 
MK Stalin - “How can I forget the man who lived his life for the people. When I cannot control myself but just cry, how can I console others.”
