Maharashtra hospitals operating without basic Fire NOC sealed!
There are standard protocols issued for all public buildings, especially to maintain safety levels. Hospitals are one of the most congested places in all times, especially during such a Pandemic, as is being witnessed by the whole world, due to the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus! It has now come to light that 3 hospitals in Maharashtra, which were functioning without even obtaining the basic Fire safety NOC, have been sealed shut! Three private hospitals in the Kalwa region of Maharashtra were earlier issued with notices for functioning without obtaining the NOC from the Fire Department and also for not having proper biowaste treatment facilities.
However, despite receiving the notices, the hospitals continued to function in the same regard without obtaining the NOC letters from the Fire Department and now the Thane Municipal Corporation has issued an order for the closure of these three hospitals. The hospitals have been identified as the Jana Seva Hospital and Sri Matoshri Arogya Kendra from Waghoba Nagar and the Sai Seva Health Centre in Bhaskar Nagar. A report from the civic body states that in an earlier order, the Bombay High Court had directed the closure of any hospitals not having No Objection Certificates (NOC), from the Fire Department and also not having proper biowaste treatment facilities.
These hospitals had been continuing to function without complying to the orders of the Bombay High Court as well as the Municipal Corporation and now, they have to face the consequences. There has still been no comment from any authority on the hospitals' side and it is being awaited. Stay tuned for updates...
