The COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic has literally changed everybody's lives in some way or the other! The lockdown brought on to control the spread of this deadly virus unfortunately brought day-to-day life to a standstill and all sporting events and outdoor activities were either cancelled or postponed indefinitely! This lead to the two big Cs of India - Cinema & Cricket, both getting suspended with no immediate return in sight! Cinema and Cricket are followed as widely as religions in India and without these, the fans of both these fields were left with nothing to do. However, the postponement of the T20 Cricket World Cup, came as a blessing in disguise. This event's postponement gave a window for the Indian Premier League (IPL) - the world's most followed Cricket Tournament, to be conducted!

The IPL Governing Council announced that this year's tournament - the 13th edition of the IPL, would be conducted in UAE! This brought a huge sigh of relief to all the cricket fans! It became even more important for Captain Cool MS Dhoni's fans, as he has not been seen in action after India's loss at the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup and everybody was waiting with bated breath to see his comeback to the cricket field in his favourite Yellow jersey of the Chennai Super Kings team! Recently, there were reports that the CSK team would be heading off to UAE as early as August 10th, the begin their team's training camp there! However, there seems to be a hitch with these plans, as the IPL Governing Council has stated that no team can leave for the UAE before August 20th!

The SOPs and precautionary measures to be followed by all the IPL teams will be given out by the IPL governing council and they are all expected to follow it strictly! A report from CSK's team management has also come out stating that all the players, including MS Dhoni, would have to mandatorily undertake COVID testing before even arriving to Chennai. The entire team is scheduled to gather in Chennai, before leaving to the UAE, within the next 48 hours! We also hear that the CSK team is trying to get permission to leave early for UAE as it wants to begin preparations for the tournament with a training camp there. Chances of the team undergoing a training camp in India are very slim and further details are being awaited from the authorities before any decision can be taken! Stay tuned for updates...
