Cinema and Cricket are the two big Cs which are considered to be akin to religions in India! The following that these two generate cannot be described as anything short of fanatic! With the ongoing COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic having brought to a halt everything in our normal lives, all sporting events were either cancelled or post-poned! The Indian Premier League T20 competition is not just followed in India but is billed as one of the most watched tournaments across the world and has a massive following everywhere. Players from across the world participate in this competition and all their fans were left heartbroken when the tournament kept getting postponed repeatedly!

However, with the postponement of the T20 World Cup, which was scheduled to be held in September this year in Australia, to next year, the IPL got a window and it was almost immediately announced that this year's tournament would be held in the UAE! This came as a huge relief for Cricket fans as one of the contemporary legends of the game - Mahendra Singh Dhoni, or Mahi as he is fondly known, would be returning to active cricket only with the IPL! Captain Cool or Namma Thala, the leader of the most successful franchise in IPL - Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be making his comeback and millions of his fans are eagerly waiting to see him in the Yellow jersey again!

Now, it has come to light that the CSK team is making all preparations to begin training in the UAE for this year's tournament, from August 10th! We hear that all CSK players have been asked to assemble in Chennai on August 9th, ready to leave for Dubai almost immediately! However, all this can happen only if the itinerary is cleared by the respective authorities! Some reports state that the CSK team management has arranged a chartered flight to take their players to Dubai. It was just last week that the IPL Governing Council Chairman Brijesh Patel had confirmed that the IPL 2020 would begin on September 19th with the final set to happen on November 8th or November 10th! Governmental clearance is still being awaited for all these. Meanwhile, the IPL governing council is set to meet on August 2nd, to take decisions on the logistical challenges and all the Standard Operating Procedures for the teams are expected to be finalised in this meeting! Stay tuned for updates... And, get ready to "Whistle Podu" for "Namma CSK!"
