The outbreak of the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus has brought normal life to a standstill across the world and it is only now that people in some countries are slowly attempting to get back to normalcy! However, sports of all kind have been severely hit and all major sporting events have been postponed indefinitely or completely cancelled. Even non-contact sports have been kept on hold. In what was considered a small ray of hope, it was announced that the Pakistan Cricket team would be travelling to England to play a series in August, behind closed doors (empty stadiums without any spectators). However, now this has hit a major roadblock!

With just 1 week to go for the touring players to leave for England, three players from the squad have tested positive for the COVID-19 Corona Virus! Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf and Haider Ali have all returned positive results and have been advised to go into self-isolation immediately, as they have all been identified as asymptomatic! The results of a few other players are expected to be available by Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Pakistand Cricket Board (PCB) has asked any other players or officials who have been in contact with the 3 infected players to self-isolate themselves. The Pakistan squad will be leaving to Manchester from Lahore by a special chartered flight on June 28 and will be subject to another COVID test on arrival in the UK. If these 3 players recover in time, they can join the rest of the squad at a later date, by taking a commercial flight!
