India has become one of the countries, most affected by the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic! India stands third in the list of countries in the world, most affected by this Virus, behind only the United States of America and Brazil! Earlier, the mortality rate was very low and that was an encouraging factor, especially considering the vast topography of our nation and the huge population. However, just yesterday, India overtook Italy to get to 5th place on the list of countries in the world with the most COVID deaths registered! The Indian government has banned the opening of all religious places across the country, despite the nation-wide lockdown being lifted and normalcy being rolled out in phases. Recently, the Central Government gave out the guidelines for Unlock 3.0 and the bans on the reopening of schools, colleges & other educational systems as well as on shopping malls and metro trains, are still in place.

Recently, it has been announced that the Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has allowed the reopening of all religious places in the state for the common people, from September 1st! This announcement has come despite the state recording some high numbers for new COVID cases, everyday in the recent past! Reports state that Rajasthan's Home Department would soon be issuing the guidelines for the opening of the religious places, as well as the social distancing norms and other health protocols! Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is said to have issued a directive to all district Collectors to prepare the required guidelines with the mandatory social distancing and other health protocols in mind!

The Rajasthan State Government has also ordered to select 'Gram Rakshaks' for all gram panchayaths, till August 31st! CM Ashok Gehlot has stated that these Gram Rakshaks would function as coordinators between the public and the Police. This step is aimed to increase the trust that the people have on the Police department. The government has also directed all the colleges in the state to begin work for Plasma Therapy, after getting due approval from the ICMR! As per latest reports, Plasma Therapy is expected to begin in Ajmer, by August 15th! Recently, it was also announced that the State Assembly would have a session convened in August, as directoed by the Governor! The overall COVID numbers for Rajasthan are not alarming but the daily number of cases is still bordering above 1000. Stay tuned for updates...
