The ongoing COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic has already wreaked havoc in everybody's life. The world is struggling hard to regain even a semblance of normalcy but the Pandemic continues to ravage many countries across the world! This deadly virus has already claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, including many top political leaders, sportspersons, artists and celebrities. The Virus has also claimed the lives of a number of political leaders and artists in India and it came as a huge shock when former President Pranab Mukherjee tested positive for COVID-19! Unfortunately, soon after he had to undergo brain surgery to remove a blood clot! The surgery happened on August 10th! 

Unfortunately, the former President has been comatose since his surgery and has been on ventilator support! With not much improvement in his health, there have been a lot of speculations about the 84-year-old President with some sections of the media stating that he is no more. Responding to these, Pranab Mukherjee's son Abhijit and daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee, have slammed all these as being just rumours! Abjijit has tweeted that his father's condition is still "deeply comatose" with stable parameters but that his condition remained unchanged! The Army Research and Referral Hospital has reiterated this in a statement, telling, "He is deeply comatose with stable vital parameters and he continues to be on ventilatory support!"

Abhijit Mukherjee's tweet read, "My father is and has always been a fighter! He is slowly responding to medical interventions and all his vital parameters are stable. I urge upon every well-wisher to pray for my father's speedy recovery! We need them." It was just last evening that Abhijit Mukherjee described his father's condition as "haemodynamically stable", after the surgery to remove the clot in his brain. Just before he was admitted to the hospital for surgery, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee himself tweeted that he had tested positive for COVID-19! He had also requested the people who came in contact with him to self-isolate and get tested for COVID, themselves! All the top leaders of India have been sending across their wishes for the former President to get well soon! We also extend our heartfelt wishes for the speedy recovery of Shri. Pranab Mukherjee!
