Former India captain and current President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly's family members have tested positive for coronavirus. Sourav Ganguly's elder brother, Snehashish Ganguly, who is also the Secretary of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), was found to have been infected with the COVID-19 infection, according to a statement released by the state health department.

A senior health official also stated that Snehashish's wife as well has tested positive for the virus. Furthermore, the official said that the mother-in-law and father-in-law of Snehashish had tested positive for the disease last week. Apart from Sourav Ganguly's family members, a domestic help at Snehasish’s Mominpur home where he recently stayed too was found to be positive for the infection. Snehashish, a former Ranji cricketer, has tested negative for COVID-19 and advised home isolation, the official said.

The senior official in his statement said, "All the four complained of some health issues, which were similar to the symptoms of COVID-19 when they were staying at another residence and not at Ganguly's ancestral house in Behala. After testing positive, all the four were shifted to a private nursing home,". He added that further tests will be conducted on them on Saturday and a decision will be taken regarding their discharge from the hospital in Kolkata based on it. An official in the nursing home said, "Whether they will be discharged or not, depends on the result of the tests,"
