A security guard working at the Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) hospital in Delhi sustained injuries after his neighbor allegedly attacked and beat him up under the accusations of spreading coronavirus. The Delhi police have said that the injured has been identified as Vijay Kumar, a resident of Harsh Vihar and is working as a security guard at the government-run GTB hospital, which is also a COVID-19 facility.

The police said the shocking incident had taken place on June 19 between Vijay Kumar and his neighbour, Vikas Gautam, on the terrace of their apartment in northeast Delhi's Harsh Vihar area. An official stated that a verbal spat had apparently erupted between the two with Vikas Gautam accusing Vijay Kumar of spreading coronavirus as he had been working in a hospital.

The official added that Gautam had allegedly physically attacked by beating the guard after their argument. Soon after, Vijay Kumar had been rushed to a nearby hospital with a case being registered on the accused, who went on to be arrested. As of now, investigations and verification are ongoing regarding the allegations made by the victim.
