Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain has tested negative for the novel coronavirus after being admitted in the Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital in the nation's capital, officials said. The 55-year-old Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader began experiencing breathing troubles and was running with a high fever after attending a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, minister Satyendar Jain informed his followers via a tweet saying, "Due to high grade fever and a sudden drop of my oxygen levels last night I have been admitted to RGSSH. Will keep everyone updated". Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted back in Hindi saying, "You served the public 24*7 without thinking twice about your health. Please take care of your health and get well soon."

It is to be noted that Arvind Kejriwal had tested negative for the COVID-19 infection last week. He had gone into self-isolation at his home after experiencing throat pain and a mild fever. Delhi is the third worst-affected state in the country with nearly 43,000 coronavirus cases. There have been 479 deaths recorded to date in the state and the recovery count rising to over 16,000 with the number of active cases currently standing at more than 25,000.
