A shocking incident has come to light after CCTV footage in a tourism department of Andhra Pradesh showed a deputy manager physically attacking and assaulting a differently-abled woman working in a hotel associated with the department. The events caught on the camera show the disabled woman being dragged from a chair and hit on her head with an iron rod repeatedly after she had asked him to wear a mask, which left him in a fit of rage. The incident, which took place in Nellore on June 27, had the woman informing the man to wear a mask as mandated by the government in all workplaces - public and private sectors that are operating at present. Reports state the woman has been severely injured and is undergoing treatment. 

The man in an orange shirt identified to be C Bhaskar Rao in the video shows him walking into an office room and dragging a woman from her seat by her hair. He then repeatedly goes on to assault her with an iron road as she is being pulled to the ground despite three to four people in the room trying to stop him from attacking her after which he was led out. The video has gone on to be widely shared on social media and has led to an outrage among many with the National Commission for Women chairperson Rekha Sharma tweeting, "I am going to take it up right away. He needs to be booked for his act." Watch the shocking video below: 

S Rajiv Krishna, Advisor to the Andhra Pradesh government, took to his Twitter page and tweeted saying, "Case has been booked by Nellore Police @sp_nlr, person arrested and under judicial remand. We w ensure justice is done. Will not tolerate such action." Mr. Bhaskar has since been apprehended by the Nellore police with multiple charges levelled against him. The arrest has been made under the COVID-19 protocol. It has been revealed that he has undergone a test for coronavirus and will be presented before the magistrate after the results come out.
