Dhanush made it to the big league after making his foreign language film The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir. The English - French movie is based on the novel with the same title written by Romain Puertolas. Along with Dhanush, the film stars Barkhad Abdi and Gerard Jugnot in important roles. The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir is directed by Ken Scott and is produced by Luc Bossi, Jon Goldman, Saurabh Gupta, Aditi Anand, and Gulzar Chahal under the banner of Brio Films, M! Capital Ventures, Little Red Car Films and TF1 Studios. Music for the movie is composed by Nicolas Errèra & Amit Trivedi as Vincent Mathias handles the camera.
Based Dhanush's fan following, the film is being dubbed into Tamil under the title Pakkiri. The marketing and distribution of the Tamil version are done by YNOTX which is a subsidiary of Y Not Studios. Pakkiri has huge expectations as it has won and had many nominations for several awards. Pakkiri is all set to release on the 21st of June.
Towards the big release, the producers have been releasing the video songs from the film as part of their promotions and the latest to come out is the song Saalakaara. Composed by Amit Trivedi, the song has lyrics written by Madhan Karky. Saalakaara is sung by Anthony Daasan and the rap version is sung by R Venkatraman.
