One of the biggest and most popular wrestlers of all time, Hulk Hogan, went on to become a global wrestling phenomenon towards the late 1970s after he joined the World Wrestling Federation, rechristened later as the World Wrestling Entertainment.

Labelled as ‘Hollywood’ Hulk Hogan, the wrestler is credited with catapulting professional wrestling across the world and returned to the WWE for the fifth time after retirement and was subsequently reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year. 

Now, it has been officially been confirmed that actor Chris Hemsworth, known prominently for portraying the Marvel comic book superhero Thor in Marvel Studios’ Thor and Avengers films, will be portraying Hulk Hogan in the biopic of the wrestler.

The Hulk Hogan biopic will reunite director Todd Phillips of The Hangover franchise fame with writer Scott Silver, who are now awaiting their upcoming DC Comics film, Joker, hitting screens this October.

Netflix is set to be in final talks to produce the Hulk Hogan biopic with Todd Phillips and actor Bradley Cooper also producing via their banner, Joint Effort, and Hemsworth and Eric Bischoff too joining in funding the project.
