The two-day mega event Ilayaraja 75 to honour the musical legend and the five-time National Award winner Isaigniani Ilayaraja kickstarted in grand style on Saturday (February 2nd) and is set to carry on to Sunday (February 3rd) at the YMCA ground in Chennai.

 

Top actors and technicians from all south Indian languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam are expected to attend the event. One of the surprise guests is none other the Oscar hero AR Rahman. AR Rahman decorated the stage along with Iilayaraj which was a visual treat for the fans.

 


 

Speaking at the event, AR Rahman said, "I first worked for Ilaiyaraaja on MoondramPirai. Facing him in the studio was like facing a headmaster".

 

AR Rahman and Ilayaraja also went on to put up a show as the later sung the popular track Thendaral Vandhu as AR Rahman took over the piano which was one in a lifetime visual.
