With mere days to go for the release of Cobra, Vikram is all set to take over the theatres yet again. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 31, coinciding with Vinayaga Chathurthi, and the hype is only going up as we are nearing its date of release. Staunch fans of the actor are so amped up for the movie that a few students from St. Joseph's College in Tiruchirappalli have written a formal letter to the principal demanding an official leave in order to catch the movie. 
 
The letter read, “Respected Rev.FR. Principal, We the students of SJC belongs to department of commerce. We need an official college holiday on 01-09-2022 as the release of the ‘cobra’ movie because there is no tickets available on 31-08-2022. So kindly request you to don’t make any calls or message. However we are not going to come to college. Thank You! Your obediently, Chiyaan’s fans. Note: we have one extra ticket. If you are interested you may join". Check it out:

The upcoming action thriller has been written and directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu and produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar under the banner of 7 Screen Studio. The film stars Chiyaan Vikram in the titular role alongside Srinidhi Shetty, Irfan Pathan, K. S. Ravikumar, and Roshan Mathew with Robo Shankar, Miya George, Mirnalini Ravi, and Meenakshi Govindarajan in supporting roles. The film will mark the cinematic debut of the Indian cricketer and also the Tamil debuts of Shetty, Khalid, and Mathew as well. The music is composed by Isai Puyal A. R. Rahman, with cinematography handled by Harish Kannan and edited by John Abraham.
 
Post the release of Cobra, Vikram will be seen in Mani Ratam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan in which he will be playing the role of Aditya Karikalan. He will be accompanied by a stellar ensemble cast which will consist of Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in prominent roles.
